Portugal July 2019 was ideal place to test the new motor yacht MY40 on the sea with the Fountaine Pajot team.
The weather forecast was perfect with a calm sea and small winds up to 10 knots, the main skipper was Yves from Fountaine Pajot and no doubt he has shown us the real power of the Power cat MY40.
We were about 18 persons onboard (the dealers were split in 4 different groups), so the maximum weight capacity of the boat (including the high level of equipment) was clearly at the maximum but as the concept of the motor catamaran is to optimize the living spaces offering 3 huge different living spaces (cockpit & saloon, fly-bridge + forward cockpit), we even couldn’t feel that there was so many persons.
We have tested the IPS Volvo 500 and navigated around the Troia Bay with photo sessions of the new FP45 which was also on the sea trial with the other groups.
MY40 has reached 23,7Knt in one moment which was quite impressive, the stability and the seaworthiness are spectacular, we took some strong curves on purpose to see the dynamism and the stability and were amazed by the safe attitude we get.
The MY40 has already been awarded in Asia during the Singapore season and testing, there is no doubt it will be a huge success on the European and American market.
